The Samps (short for "South African Metaphysical Society", apparently) is only one person: Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti member Cole M. Grief-Neill, a.k.a. Cole M.G.N. The Samps' debut release drops May 4 digitally and May 25 as a 12", courtesy of Mexican Summer (that's the cover art above); "F.X.N.C." features funky synths and 1980's sounds that wouldn't sound out of place on a record from his main act.
